Our vision is to see the gospel saturate the neighborhoods around White Rock Lake. In order to do that, we want to plant neighborhood churches who are positioned to care for the physical and spiritual needs of their communities. These churches will operate independently from each other, but will be united in community, vision and doctrine.
2018 will be a big year for our first church plant. We are excited about what God is doing in East Dallas and in the hearts of everyone called to support our efforts to love our city for Christ’s kingdom. Here are some important things to know in the New Year:
Basic Plant Timeline – We will begin formally meeting as a church plant via Core Team meetings each Sunday at Noon on January 14th. These meetings will continue through March 18th. Two weeks after Easter (April 15), we will launch groups (and Core Team meetings will be held, as needed). Throughout Winter/Spring we will search out opportunities to serve the area in which we will plant. During the summer, we will hold three monthly preview services and anticipate launching a Sunday morning worship service on Sunday, September 9.
Giving –Thank you to all who have given to WRF Church Planting. We project a need of $100,000 above monies given by our sending church to get through the first fiscal year. Would you prayerfully consider making a year-end, tax-deductible gift to the plant? You can also set up a recurring gift as part of your 2018 giving. We have a goal to fully find the 2018-19 Fiscal Year before it begins on July 1, 2018. To give, click here.
Community Groups begin Sunday, April 15 – Beginning Sunday, April 15, we will worship with White Rock Fellowship during their first service at 9am. Afterwards, we will break into community groups. For more information about how to join a Lakewood Fellowship Community Group, email Randy.
