This Week's Reading: Joshua 8 & 9
This Week's Reflection Questions:
What did you observe from this week’s reading?
In chapter 9 the Gibeonites lied to protect themselves. Where do you notice your own tendencies to be dishonest or partially honest with friends, family, a significant other, or even God?
In what ways can you mirror Joshua’s reverence for the commands of God (end of ch. 8) this week?
Praise to the Lord, the Almighty by Joachim Neander & Catherine Winkworth
Responsive Prayer (Congregational response in bold)
Show us your unfailing love, O God, our Savior,
and grant us your salvation.
Listen to what the Lord our God says:
He promises peace to his people,
who are his beloved saints.
The Lord will indeed give what is good.
Righteousness goes before him
and prepares the way for his steps.
May the Lord make his holy face to shine upon us in this time of worship.
May we see God’s face and know his peace.
