Children's Ministry Director

Job Overview:

The Children’s Ministry Director will ensure the safe, effective, and smooth operation of the children’s ministry at White Rock Fellowship for kids from birth through 5th grade. This role will work closely with pastoral leadership to implement teaching curricula and operational procedures (check-in/out, safety protocols, etc), as well as ensure that our classrooms are staffed with qualified and trained teachers, volunteers, and helpers. The purpose of this position is to foster an environment where children can know the love of God and learn the gospel at an early age. 

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate a true faith in Jesus by living according to His word.
  • Previous experience in a children’s ministry setting (staff or volunteer).
  • Communicate well with both children and adults.
  • Ability to recruit, lead, and equip volunteers.
  • Be implementation-minded, a self-starter, and willing to learn.

Job Responsibilities

Lead WR Kids Early Childhood & Elementary Ministry

  • Work with senior church leadership to maintain a cohesive vision and strategic plan for White Rock Kids.
  • Manage the execution of Sundays in WR Kids.
  • Foster a warm and friendly Sunday morning environment for children and families. 
  • Work with pastoral leadership to implement curricula that are biblical and engaging.
  • Oversee all administrative and safety duties relating to WR Kids (teaching materials, crafts, snacks, supplies, policies and procedures, etc.).
  • Assist with communication to WR Kids volunteers and parents.

Equip Volunteers for Ministry

  • Recruit and schedule all WR Kids volunteers.
  • Train volunteers in WR Kids procedures, safety, and operations.

Other Responsibilities

  • Coordinate kids activities for occasional midweek events.
  • Assist in the coordination and management of external childcare providers as needed.
  • Help organize storage areas and children’s classrooms.
  • Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings.
  • Assist with Sunday morning worship services as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Additional Details

  • Reports to Lead Pastor
  • Part time, 25 hours per week
